Valley Hay
Sweet Pea Ranch provides local Valley Grass hay
AM Feeding: Horses are fed breakfast grain and then immediately turned out to pasture.
PM Feeding: Grain and up to 3 flakes of valley hay
Abundant pasture allows Sweet Pea Ranch to keep hay costs low and pass the savings on to you. But we understand that group pasture turnout is not right for every horse.
If your horse is turned out in an individual paddock or is not turned out, breakfast hay can be provided. Paddocks do have grass but not enough to fulfill nutritional requirements. Additional hay bags in stalls are also available upon request.
Paddock Breakfast: 2 flakes - $50/month
No Turnout: Up to 2 flakes breakfast and 2 flakes lunch - $100/month
Additional Hay Bag: 2 flakes - $50/month
Alfalfa Hay
WhiteRaven Equestrian provides Alfalfa Hay upon request.
Alfalfa Hay: 1 flake - $57/month
Grain
Sweet Pea Ranch will feed your grain and supplements up to 2x per day. Grain is soaked to reduce the risk of choke.
WhiteRaven Equestrian can provide the following grain and supplement options for your convenience:
Basic: Alfalfa Pellets, Haystack Special Blend, Timothy Pellets, Beet Pulp, HorseGuard, and Salt in any combination.
Up to 4lbs per day: $60/month
Up to 5lbs per day: $75/month
Specialized: Purina Senior Active, Renew Gold, Flax Oil, Gut Probiotics and more available for additional cost. Let us help streamline your horses diet and reduce your trips to the feed store!
Pastures and Paddocks
Sweet Pea Ranch currently has four very large grassy pastures used for group turnout and a fifth is underway. Pastures are rotated to keep grass available as a feed source and to foster healthy soil and reduce weed takeover without the need for herbicides.
For horses who are not suited for group turnout, seven individual paddocks are available.
Sweet Pea Ranch is a designated wildlife sanctuary and endeavors to keep our pastures pesticide and herbicide free.
Blanketing
Sweet Pea Ranch will change blankets to suit the current weather, i.e. rain, sudden changes in temperature. If you wish to have blankets changed every day such as a day blanket and night blanket this is available for an additional charge.
Daily Blanket Changes: $30/month
